Winning Traders", and I really put my thinking cap on with it. I
wanted to make sure that I was really digging down to determine what
made the successful traders successful.
When I was getting to the end of the report and re-reading what I had,
something occured to me that I wasn't expecting at all. I was
looking for those key traits that separate those that enjoy a very nice
living from trading from those that are still struggling.
I knew that I'd identified the truly essential traits of the winners,
those essential traits that make them who they are.
A Big "Aha!" Moment
What really rocked me to the core while I was reflecting on the report
is that these traits that I was writing about were already possessed by
most people that decide to become traders!
I thought and thought about it and it's true. Most traders are
smarter than average and have already demonstrated these traits.
Most traders already have what it takes! So why isn't the success
rate in trading higher than a miserable 10%?
There had to be something that was happening to everyone somewhere
along the way that was presenting an obstacle, that was disrupting
these already-existing and already established success traits.
So What Was Happening?
So if a person has these traits before they get into trading, they've
already shown that they can be successful, what is happening along the
way that causes so many to fail?
And why, if they've been successful before, does it take so long to
reach a similar level of success in trading?
As I reflected on the question, it came to light that there must be
something going on very early on in most traders' careers.
I started going back through time and recalling all that happens before
during and after a person first starts trading, trying to identify that
one event that occurs that seemed to be affecting everyone and
interfering with their ability to succeed.
After hours of reflection and more questions, I was surprised at what I
found.
Almost Seems Like A Conspiracy
There are actually several events that work in combination to bring
this phenomenon about.
There were a couple things that happened before you ever decided to get
into trading. A few of them occur during your first days as a
trader.
The main thing that got to me was at how these events seem so normal and not really
anything to worry about. But when you look at what happens and
how they affect you, how they work together, you see very clearly that
they truly set the stage for a long and hard road to becoming a
successful trader.
Since they seem harmless enough on their own, no one has really paid
attention to them. No one thought to give you any warning about
the trap that you were walking into.
As a matter
of fact, when you discover what I
have, you too may think that it seems
like a conspiracy.
Worst of All
The more I looked at what I discovered, I also realized these events
come together in a very subtle way, kind of like being 'hidden in plain
sight.'
The dangers though, are that they way they affect you is like a trap,
because you not only run into very substantial difficulties almost
immediately, most people stay stuck in this situation until they blow
out their account.
Like trying to follow a bad map, these events send you down the wrong
road to successful trading, instead of getting you there quickly like
